September 12-14 Fields of Flight: C.B. Hot Air Balloon Rally at Ditmars Orchard

September 13 - Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge Lighting!
Includes the season's last "Playing with Fire" free concert on the Omaha riverfront by Rick's Boatyard, the official Bridge lighting, and fireworks off the Bridge! Concert and fireworks are free!

September 20-21 - Midwest Kite Flyers Exhibition at Ditmars Orchard

October 1 - Deadline for Amateur Photo Contest Submissions

October 1 - Shakespeare in the Park
One of the Bard's celebrated plays, performed live by the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival.

October 3-19 - Studio and Vine: Fall Art and Wine Event
Includes tours of southwest Iowa wineries and artist galleries. More information will be published soon.

October 4 - Hike at Vincent Bluff Nature Preserve, 10:00 a.m.
One of Council Bluffs's natural treasures, this is a true 40+ acres nature preserve, right in the heart of the city. Open year-round to the public, Vincent Bluff is located at the top of Thallas Street, off Woodbury Avenue.
Sponsored by Loess Hills Preservation Society. This is a free event, open to the public.

October 4 - Fine Dining in a Historic Home
This fundraiser will benefit the Historic Preservation Alliance, who advocate for the preservation of historic homes and districts in the community.

A Council Bluffs biking tradition, this event includes a full circuit of the city, using city trails, bike lanes, and road ways.
